We installed a scanning spectrometer atop a 30m tower in a Longleaf pine forest at the Ordway-Swisher Biological Station near Gainesville, Florida. The instrument (PhotoSpec) will collect continuous data (every ~20 seconds) on vegetation reflectance (400-1000nm) and Solar-induced fluorescence. These data will be compared with needle scale pigment, gas-exchange, and fluorescence data, as well as flux tower derived carbon fluxes. Funded by the NSF NEON Enabled Science Macrosystems Biology Program.
